The Sweet Escape - Darlington

The waffle was delicious, but I was disappointed with the £6 bag of pick and mix. It should have been clearly stated that it was sweets coated in sugar, as I would not have purchased them if I had known. I would have chosen something else instead.

Didn’t rate the cheesecake, plain and bland. We got two cheesecakes and both ended up in the bin. The cookie dough was also a let down. The milkshake was a 5/10. Wouldn’t buy from again.

Nice food but paid for two custards and got one a shame didn't enjoy tart without it oh well : ......

I went to Sweet Escape with a friend after trying Kaspas but found that Sweet Escape was more affordable. The cakes looked delicious and there was a good selection to choose from. When we tried to order food, an employee said he couldn't put an item through because he didn't know the price, but another employee eventually took our order. Both staff members seemed uninterested and unfriendly. I ordered a toffee milkshake and was initially told I had to choose from chocolate flavors, even though I couldn't eat chocolate. Eventually, I was able to get what I originally asked for. The food was ok, but I prefer the desserts at Kaspas. We also found a hair in the food and there was a bothersome buzzing sound. Overall, I wouldn't go back.

I believe we have tried everything at this restaurant. In my opinion, the waffles with various toppings are the best. The fresh cakes are always delicious with a great selection to choose from. The kids always enjoy the milkshakes where they can choose their own toppings like chocolate bars. So far, I have not had a disappointing dessert.
