Mowden Chinese Takeaway - Darlington

We were told there would be a 25-minute wait, but it ended up being 55 minutes. The food was of poor quality. This restaurant used to be our local favorite, but we have given up on it. It has steadily declined in quality over the past year.

The restaurant serves traditional British-style Chinese food in a familiar takeaway setting. You can place your order and then head over to The Model T for a pint while you wait. The sweet and sour chicken balls are particularly delicious.

This was our first time trying Chinese food from this restaurant and unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed. We ordered a variety of dishes but ended up leaving everything uneaten. Even the sauces that came with the dishes were unappetizing. One of the dishes we ordered was deep-fried king prawns in garlic butter. Normally, we would fight over the last prawn, but this time we each only had one and left the rest untouched.

Love the food but don’t ever believe the timings Always 30 mins later than quoted but tonight over 1 hour sat waiting for it! Spent more time in the shop than the cook time of the food Obvs since ownership changed timings have got worse. Be realistic with your customers or you will lose them to better takeaways.

Always loved this chinese, and always will the food is outstanding and you get plenty of it for your money, give it ago you won't be disappointed
