Bidra med feedbackThis restaurant offers authentic Japanese cuisine. I am a fan of Japan and highly recommend trying this place. The food was delicious and the service was prompt.
Sadly, Yokozuna closed a few years ago; around late 2015 as I recall it. I don’t know if the owners have opened somewhere else.
Fabulous place; best sashimi plate in town, no contest. They are closing Oct 24 unfortunately because their lease expired and they could not renegotiate a reasonable extension. A pity ... .
My Japanese friend knows all the best Japanese places in Sydney and she wasn't wrong on this one either. Unpretentious is an understatement. Amongst the scruffy part of Oxford St you'd definitely never look twice at it. We ordered the Sashimi platter and sat there in total awe as it was brought out. A run of the mill sashimi platter it was not. Much excitement from my Japanese girlfriend and the wife of the chef over the Sea Urchin which they constantly ask the fish markets for but which sometimes disappoints. Apparently ours was as good as it gets. For the two novices trying it for the first time it took a little to get used to, but with the delightful service and the amazingly authentic food it's the closest thing to feeling you're you've been transported to Japan. Gyoza was delicious too and presented with a lovely light crust. If you love Japanese food and culture and aren't concerned about being in fancy surroundings, you won't be sorry giving this little restaurant a go.
What can I say..Its surprisingly tasty. I order wagyu ramen and it comes with big bowls and it taste perfect.
