Bidra med feedbackI have been going here for over 30yrs. It was always considered an authentic great value meal. …. Not anymore… prices have gone up 25% in the last 6moths and the schnitzel which use to take up at least half the plate had obviously been cut in half …. Add poor service and I’d say there are much better options within the immediate vicinity.
Rarely, you find a restaurant that is really worth shouting about for all the right reasons. Bill and Toni’s is a traditional Italian restaurant with fabulous food, mountainous servings, and the best value. It’s the best place for a fun night out with friends and family. Bring your appetite!
Excellent hand made gf pizza yum. My only issue was that our meals came out 10 mins apart. I feel meals should come together for a nice dining experience. Waiter was a bit grumpy.
I waited at the counter for about 5 minutes before receiving any attention. I ordered the fish and chips with juice and sat down. After waiting for at least 15 minutes, I noticed that two ladies who had arrived after me were served their food before me. When I inquired about my order, I was told it would take another 10 minutes. I decided to take it to-go as I was in a hurry to get back to work. Upon reaching my office, which was only a 7-minute walk away, I found that the chips were overly oily and heavily salted, making them almost inedible. The battered fish pieces were also oily, with one having little fish inside and the other mostly uncooked batter. Overall, I was extremely disappointed as the quality used to be much better. The only positive aspect was that the staff offered me free cake as an apology for the wait, and the juice was good. It's surprising how they managed to mess up such a classic dish like fish and chips.
I absolutely adore this restaurant. I have introduced all of my friends to it and have been a loyal customer for 40 years. Even after moving away, I always make sure to come back for a meal when I'm in Sydney. As a child, we used to challenge each other to see how many free cordials we could drink. The atmosphere hasn't changed much over the years, and that's what makes it perfect. This place may be one of those hidden gems that only locals truly appreciate, noticing every small change that occurs. I still remember when they replaced the chairs, and I couldn't decide if I preferred the old ones or not. The waiters used to clean tables by slapping them with tea towels, a practice I haven't seen in a while. There was a sign that read "watch your step" but some letters had fallen off, turning it into a joke among my friends. My go-to order has always been the Schnitzel and Cheese Combo, but the osso buco is also outstanding. The consistent flavors and warm hospitality make this place a constant in a world that is constantly changing. I wouldn't change a thing about it. Don't expect fancy decor here; instead, come for authentic and delicious food, genuine people, a taste of old Sydney, and great company. If you're dining solo, choose a seat on the balcony and enjoy watching the world go by.
