Cherokee Tap Room - Danville

This is in the rule of one of our favorite restaurants. Mother's Day was a catastrophe. it started when we went to order, it was said that it ran out of 5 items on the limited menu. we had to check and order the menu. while we were waiting, they were told that they had fled from two other items we had ordered from milk that my 8-year-old daughter had ordered. our waitress was slow and inconspicuous and unapologetic, our reservation was about 1:45 and we left the restaurant at 3:30. we heard waitresses who said that they were eating more and more. other patrons in the restaurant were very vocal with their unhappy and asked for the owner, but he sent his manager to take the heat. table next to us had reduced their bill, so I was very surprised when our waitress brought the bill and no mention to reduce it. then I took the bill to the manager and spoke my unmistakable and in her defense torn the bill, but I should not have to ask first. in my opinion, the owner has failed royally by not coming out to speak with the rest of the mozens and offer to make it right in some way. by not doing this, I'm sure he's lost customers all the time this day. that is not the norm for this restaurant. we eat here quite often without problems and eating is in the regular excellent as well as the service. they were not prepared for Mother's Day, unfortunately it ruined the day for some. hopefully they will be better prepared for the next opportunity and learn from it.

The service was terrible. We waited a least 10 minutes until our waitress came to take our drink order. Then our drink order sat on the bar for 10 minutes before the hostess brought the drinks over. The Same thing happened when we ordered our second round of drinks. My husband asked for his Hamburg medium rare and it came well done. It was tasty, but overdone. I asked for my poached eggs to be cooked runny and one egg was done right but the other was overdone. The dish is very tasty, but this was the second time I ordered eggs Benedict and both times the eggs were overdone. We really like the Tap Room but the service and food have been inconsistent.

Always an enjoyable evening here. Seated as soon as we arrived and we were glad to have reservations. Four of us ordered four difference entrees and none of us were disappointed. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Special drink and food menu was available due to Valentine’s Day. Nice choices. We did not have dessert, but the table next to us did. It looked great.

Everything here is exceptional. The owners could not be friendlier and more excited you are there. There are no words to describe how delicious the food was! We can’t wait to come back!

Interesting choices on menu. Very good food, leaning to gourmet in a bar atmosphere. No matter what you will not feel uncomfortable here. Great brews but a few lessons in mixology would help. I’ll keep returning. You should try. Love Brunch also.
