Hog's Breath Cafe Dandenong

I love the seafood plate and the cough tail chips. steak was great and I loved how it was cooked. will certainly come back to try something else next time.

Service great. Atmosphere very nice. Food excellent. Only complaint was the seat, should have moved to a table and chairs, the bench seating was not comfortable

Went for dinner Sat night with some friends. Had been to other locations in the past and enjoyed it. But this store didn't live up to the standard. First impression was on arrival, I almost could not see the store as the big hogs breath sign on the street had half the fluro tubes inside broken so was dimly lit. Also a few of the lights along the side of the building were flickering too. Not a good first impression! Inside it was busy and had the great ambiance and decor as other stores. Everything was clean and nice. Service was also good. Biggest concern was the disappointing value for money. We got burgers and steaks and the burgers only had a few fries on the side. One burger had 7 sweet potato fries next to it. The steak was excellent but getting a little expensive too. Worst value was the bowl of sweet potato fries which was a small dessert bowl with only a handful in it. I'll go back to Hog Breath, but not this location, and I recommend others do the same.

Sadly, my experience here with my mates was not good. Beyond the good atmosphere and friendly service, the buck stoped there. Place seemed unloved: faulty lights, signs and questionable build quality of the cafe. Food was very disappointing- especially for the price. You do not go to a place like this to expect the highest quality, but surely you expect a standard. To receive a burger (which tasted like sawdust that’s an understatement) with seven fries next to it was absolutely pathetic. Not even to mention the side of fries 8.50) ordered which only had a couple more fries... (Photo attached I could not believe the servings so I took a photo! This place did not live up to the hype that many people have told me about. I would not recommend anyone to go to this place I should have of read the reviews before-hand. Despite this, I will not let this cafe tarnish the whole Hog’s Breath image and I will be happy to attend others. (Just not this one ever again

A friends milestone birthday was spoiled by choosing this venue Saturday 22/5. It took an hour to get our first drinks, the food arrived an hour and a half later, sadly not worth the wait. Once again the Prime cut was sold out and replaced with a substitute. A joke went around the table that this prime cut doesn’t actually exist, because they always seem to run out of it when we want to order it. The substitute is never any good. One of our friends ordered medium rare which arrived burnt, tough and thin as a strip of leather. Sending it back, another one came out, not overcooked this time but so fatty and gristly it was inedible. Hire a proper chef, a proper chef would never let food like this be served. Many complaints around our table about the poor quality of the meals and slow service. The $110.00 bill for my husband and myself definitely did not reflect a great meal. Ambiance wise the heating was way too high, the half blown out neon sign gave the place a very run down appearance as well. Generally a very disappointing night. We won’t be back, as well our large group of friends.
