The food was well prepared, served carefully and typical of presentations we experienced in Spain. Suggest starting with four plates.
Restaurant owners decided to closed the Danbury, CT location. They opened an online only store selling goods from Spain....spainathome.net. Open same owners, sister restaurant in Chappaqua, NY Ibiza kitchen (76 King St. 914 458 5044).
Tonight was our 47th wedding anniversary and since we loved Ibiza on our first visit, we came back to celebrate our special day. My cocktail was a Passion Margarita, fruit flavor to alcohol ratio was perfect. My husband had a ginger ale. We shared 5 tapas and each one was delectable. The first was a Ceviche with shrimp and bay scallops with plantain chips. It was served beautifully in a stemmed cocktail glass. In addition to the generous portions of seafood, there was a tasty dressing of citrus juices and thin strips of mango, cucumber, red onion and tomato. Next we shared a plate of 6 slices of thinly sliced, toasted bread topped with olive oil, pureed tomato, garlic, and sea salt. Each piece was topped with a slice of serrano ham. Our third tapa was Croquetas Queso, Iberian cheese croquettes with quince sauce. Fourth was Croquetas Almeja, Clam Chowder croquettes, crispy on the outside and creamy and delicious on the inside. Finally, we enjoyed Mejillones Azafaran, a generous bowl of mussels steamed in a white wine sauce with garlic, shallots, parsley and saffron. Each and every bite of our meal was scrumptious. My dessert was Crema Catalan, topped with a crisp crust of carmelized sugar. My husband had the Tres Leches cake which was topped with fresh strawberries. We ended our Ibiza experience with coffee. Our hostess came out after clearing the table with two small glasses. Each shot glass was a mix of pineapple and orange juice with a bit of vodka. These were gratis as a celebration of our anniversary! A delightful touch of hospitality. Our servers were grateful and happy to see us on their first day of serving in over two months and we were delighted to be there,
Our daughter in law knows how much we like Ibiza. She and her husband and children have also visited from Fairfield and liked the food. We really like the atmosphere, the nice long bar, the original tapas they put together everything is excellent all the way to dessert. Also this is where we were introduced by the owner to Felipe II a wonderful cognac! But most of all is the service! From the bartender to all the servers they are fabulous! Ignacio, the owner, would greet you, make sure everything was in order and then shake hands as we were leaving, made you feel a part of all this
