I 'm not a regular at this club, but I have frequented the bar (for tasty espressos and the best cappuccino in Danbury and the restaurant when it was under different management. My parents were in town the other day so I decided to take them to Caravela Restaurant (which is open to members and non members alike. I was skeptical at first because the place was empty and we were the first people to arrive for dinner. The 9 of us sat down and ordered from a large menu and list of specials. WOW. Everything was incredibly delicious, and Carlos (the restaurant manager was top notch. I have eaten at this restaurant since the club first opened, and I have no qualms in saying the new chef is by far the best they 've had. We had the Clams, Shrimp Angola and Flambed Choriço appetizers and they were all delicious. The 'Chouriço ' was flambed at the table (be sure to keep an eye on it so you can flip it over halfway or it will burn. For entrees, we all had different things, and again, no one had a single complaint. The steaks were cooked perfectly, served with fries and white rice. I had the Feijoada (bean stew and it was enough for 3 or 4 people. Again, really tasty. Someone else had chicken, and really enjoyed it. Do yourself a favor don 't be intimidated by the lack of clientele and GO HERE. You will not be disappointed.
