Bidra med feedbackHave never been to Nick and Sam’s, however have heard great things about the restaurant. Set reservations for 8pm Saturday night for my wife and I, date night as we don’t get to go out like this as often as we would like. Arrived at restaurant and were greeted as we entered by the host, he directed us to the bar to have a drink prior to being seated. Place is very dimly lit and a bit noisy however a bit unsuspecting as well. Ordered a filthy martini half vodka half gin and a grey hound for my wife, both drinks made to order and done well. Hostess came by about 20 min later to seat us in the main dining room, Near the kitchen. Wife had the wedge salad and sea bass special, also ordered garlic mashed potato’s. I had the 10oz filet. We also had the fried lobster and the elotes. Will start by saying the fried lobster and elotes were out of this world good, it was so hard to quit eating both of those items. I’ve eaten at many steak houses in Dallas and will say hands down that the filet at this restaurant was the best I have eaten. We loved everything about this dinner and this restaurant and without a doubt will be back!
For the first time in probably eight years we were disappointed with our experience at Nick and Sam’s. We generally will tell anyone that is our favorite restaurant. Last night it was not. We made a reservation for our anniversary. We arrived on time but we waited about 30 minutes before we were sat. I noticed there were so many tables in the main area and it was so loud. The wait staff could barely get through the tables. The big booths had two tables in them where it used to be just one big table. They had people stuffed in there like sardines. And it was hot. All those bodies and it’s hot outside I’m sure their air handlers are working overtime. Once we got sat down a waitress came by and said she would be right with us. It was about 15 mins before another waiter noticed us we didn’t even have water yet and asked if he could help us. From then the service was good. We asked the manager if he could stay our waiter as the other young lady never came back. We ordered cocktails they were wrong twice. Once my husband’s glass was dirty. When i say dirty i mean still had muddled fruit from whatever was in it before there was no fruit in our cocktail. We had several small plates for appetizers which were ok. My husband had a shush i platter and i had pasta. The pasta was not good at all. This seemed very atypical as most things I’ve had are great. Usually when we have come here for a special occasion they decorate the table leave you a card and decorate a dessert plate or something nice like that. Today, none of that like nothing. So it seems a lot has changed there. Maybe we need to go on a Tuesday or something but this was not the experience we have come to love and expect from Nick and Sam’s at all.
Not very impressed first time going here steak had no flavor service was not great ignore most of the time catered to bigger groups couples were not. For a better experience for couples chamberlain’s in Addison is a better choice and quality of food is a lot better
Horrible service, server sat me next to kitchen door despite numerous other tables open, had a horrible attitude. Do not recommend this restaurant for anyone!
I had salmon, it was OK. Not well seasoned. The steak was great, according to everyone at the table. Loved the service and complimentary.
