Saltgrass Steak House - Dallas

The service at this restaurant was good overall. The waiter was very nice, although he did forget our appetizer and took a moment to bring the check. However, aside from those minor hiccups, the food was good. The Mac and cheese was especially delightful.

This restaurant is very good overall. The service is always wonderful and the atmosphere is one of the best. While the food is good, I personally prefer the food at some other steakhouse's. The food here isn't bad at all, but there are other places I like better. Despite this, it is still a good place for dinner. However, they should consider revamping their country fried steak. It's my favorite meal, but I don't really enjoy theirs. The flavor is too smokey and the breading overwhelms the actual steak patty. The gravy could also be improved by making it more creamy and white, as the current version seems to have liquid smoke in it which doesn't work well for me.

Nice staff, very good food, would recommend for anyone looking for a nice place to have a work-related event, or anniversary or birthday party.

I have been to this location a few times, so my review is to reflect that rather than my most recent experience or rather lack of experience. As I have worked food service before, when I realized it was just over half an hour before this location would close, I wanted to head inside and ask if the kitchen was still open or starting their closing tasks. If not, I would have liked to place an order to go. I instead spent the next 15 minutes standing in front of the host stand, being ignored by the staff to the point that I left. I am not the kind of person to order food 15 minutes before closing as I feel it is unfair on the cooks at restaurants. I normally have a very good experience here and the food is amazing. However, even if the kitchen was already closing or closed, to show some modicum of respect, someone could have approached to inform me the kitchen was closed (should it be true or not).

Steaks were overcooked and dry today. Sweet potato was great. Service was mediocre to good, but it was Christmas Eve so we cut her some slack because it could’ve been better.
