Bidra med feedbackFantastic little restaurant. 100% vegan burgers are delicious and substantial - as is the lassi (comes in a pint glass!). Low seating/kneeling on floor cushions might not suit everyone though.
Having had a wonderful experience at Prasada, I was interested in trying out the Vegan Temple by the same owner. I was not disappointed! The menu was different from Prasada, but there were equally inventive burgers. I had one with tofu (in addition to the lentil patty), avocado, roasted peppers, and chimichuri sauce. Yum! I also had a huge glass of tasty pinapple, orange and coconut juice. The place has a spiritual feel, but in a really inviting way, not off-putting if you're like me not very spiritual yourself . I was happily colouring a mandala while my food was being prepared. The atmosphere was so relaxed that the tension headache I had arrived with was gone when I left.
In a country that uses a lot of meat this was a welcome change. The smoothies are a litre in size and all sorts of flavours and very cheap. It is a very small restaurant and you sit on low benches virtually on the floor.
I had the falafel sandwich, it was amazing, the tomatoes were so flavour packed, th hummus perfect. The potato fries were to die for. This will be my number 1 lunch destination.
I'm not even vegetarian and it's one of the best meals I've had in Cusco. The drinks are incredible!
