We stopped by for drinks, snacks and sweets (of course! on our annual family trip this spring, then enjoyed these at an outdoor table overlooking the lawn. The service is friendly and the drinks and snacks are reasonably priced. But watch out for the sweets some of them are priced a bit on the exorbitant side. We paid $4.49 each for marshmallow and nut truffles! They were delicious though, so I guess you get what you pay for!!
The sweet shop is a small room off the lobby of the Awahnee Hotel. (The Majestic for newbees) There in lies a terrific selection of chocolates that is fabulous. Add some trail mix, bobons , soda and a newspaper. Well it is a sweet deal for sure. Stop in and if you are lucky you can meet vicki who is such a wonderful chatty person, you will make a new best friend
Excellent selection of sweets from cloyingly sweet to just a hint of sweet. Every time I am in Yosemite I get the ginger cookies from the women who bakes them at home and brings them to the park for sale in the stores in the valley. They are made from wholesome ingredients and remind me of the holidays. They have just the right amount of spice which makes them ever so satisfying. My fiancée enjoyed the walnut chocolate chip cookies made by the same woman that I bought him as well. We ended up coming back and buying two more bags of cookies because they were so good. On the recommendation of the young woman working at the store I purchased a raw unfiltered local honey bear. She said it's the best honey she's had and it's cute to boot! Since we were celebrating our anniversary my fiancée and I bought matching pint glasses that have the map of Yosemite printed on them. What a cool way to commemorate our trip and recall the places we hiked and moments we shared here! We planned a romantic picnic by the Merced river and bought sourdough and cheddar from the valley grocery and came back here to buy dried figs, apricots, and plums. The fruit mix was pure fruit with water no sulfites or sugar added and it was simply delectable! I would highly recommend this dried fruit to anyone who enjoys figs, apricots, and plums as it is a tasty pairing. Highly recommend this little shop for both the friendly service and the good quality selection is sweets : Thank you!
Stopped in looking for some items that I forgot to bring. Lovely service and they had exactly what I needed....and the sweets were tasty too.
A hidden gem within Yosemite National Park! This candy/chocolate store is the official sweet store in the whole park. My girlfriend and I stumbled upon this store in Yelp. I have no idea how this place is off the grid from the tourist. It is literally inside one of the oldest construction in Yosemite, if not the oldest. It's damn historical people lol. They specialized on chocolate truffles. Its really delicious, but somewhat overpriced. Although I understand since it is sitting in a fancy hotel inside a famous National Park. Anyway.. I got a bag of black licorice since it's my favorite candy and a dark chocolate mint truffle : My girlfriend got 3, the butter chocolate, the sea salt and the over the top truffles. We sit on their back porch which is a pretty cool feeling. Eating chocolate truffles in a historical place is not too shabby for its ambiance. Overall, I'll go here again whenever I go to Yosemite National Park :
