Cumberland Village Bakery

We relocated to the valley 7 years ago and have been trying their apple fritter every year, only to be disappointed by the lack of apple in it. The glazed and jelly donuts are decent, but they definitely need better quality control on the apple fritter.

We might have gotten a subpar slice of cake because it was near closing time, as it was dry when we tried it later. Additionally, there was an excessive amount of icing that made it less enjoyable. I apologize.

Try one of their incredibly fresh and tasty donuts at Swing and you won't be let down! This small bakery emits a delicious aroma that can be detected from a distance. Arrive early to ensure you snag a donut before they run out.

I love stopping in ti and a quick treatment for family and friends. The food is always fresh and so delicious.

Since moving to the Island from Vancouver, I have been in search of a spot to get a good bagel. In Vancouver there are some pretty good spots, in Ottawa there are a couple, too. Closer to home, there is a lady at the Courtenay...farmer's market who's got a nice product, if you get there early enough. But hands down, Cumberland Bakery has the nicest bagels this side of Montreal. Some go for the sweet goodies, but I'll be back just for the bagels, yo ;
