Crabby Pig - Cumberland

Was visiting my Mom in Cumberland from San Diego. Ate one night, food was so good we came back the next day. Service was excellent. Sever was super friendly. Blue crabs were super tasty. Will definitely be back next time we visit. Thank you CrabbyPig!

The Crabby Pig is an awesome place to get your food fix. The crab is ALWAYS fresh and meaty. The pulled pork is amazing!! It has the perfect amount of sauce and smoke flavor. Hush puppies and crab did are a must!! Awesome service even know they had severalbig parties today. Our waitress Rachel was AMAZING!!! The restaurant is very clean and even know we sat inside, the outsideseating looked very comfortable. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat!!!

We ordered a variety of dishes; I had the crab soup, which was quite tasty and packed with real crab meat. It had a rich flavor and a hearty consistency. My children chose the shrimp and grilled cheese, and they enjoyed every bite. My wife opted for the Chicken Chesapeake and also found it to be very good. I ordered the captain’s platter, which came with two sides: a baked potato and baked beans. The platter included broiled fish, scallops, shrimp, and a crab cake. While the fish and scallops were nice, I found the shrimp to be a bit lacking, and the crab cake didn't have much flavor. Instead of being broiled to a crispy finish, the crab cake was quite mushy and had an oddly sour or bitter taste. Although the restaurant wasn’t overly busy during our visit, the service was somewhat lacking. Our server didn’t check on us regularly, and we went long stretches without receiving beverage refills. They weren’t rude, but they seemed disconnected from our table. One thing to note is that the prices are on the higher side compared to the portion sizes and overall quality of the food. Despite that, I would certainly consider returning to try this place again in the future.

Update 5/1/22: We had another fantastic meal in a relaxed setting! The patio overlooks the water and a playground, which is perfect for families with young children. My husband really enjoyed the chicken topped with crab, while our little one loved the hot dog. The waitstaff was incredibly attentive! The crab cakes were delicious, and my husband really liked the lunch steak as well. The kids' chicken tenders were good too. The patio is nice and situated by the locks, although it can be a bit noisy near the freeway overpass.

This is a great local restaurant. We had to wait about 20 minutes, which isn't too bad for a Friday night. The waitstaff were doing an excellent job. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. We ordered mussels, salad, chicken fettuccine, and the all-you-can-eat fried fish. I highly recommend it. There were so many good options on the menu that it was tough to decide what to get!
