Fabulous meal, awesome wine!!! A favorite that was great to revisit after a few years away. So great to find consistency in quality. We had a blast. The only downer was some rich a*#hole who berated the poor waitress all night. Apparently he spent a...“Thousand Dollars” which entitles him to be a really rude human. Anyhow, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and can’t wait to get back!!!!!
We have eaten here many times over the past years and once again have been blown away with the food and service. Bit disappointed in these COVID times to see a large table of guests causing issues with staff. From our observation they were treated...with kindness and the staff bent over backwards to accomodate all requests. A particularly obnoxious male chose to announce loudly on his departure “I just spent a thousand dollars to be treated like that” … No need to speak to staff so rudely. Makes you think he’s compensating for something. The staff are young, and some clearly new to working here. But they’re training and guidance is showing. Professional without stuffiness.
Amazing food, amazing service and an amazing vibe! Did a girls trip down to Thredbo and was told to come here for a long lunch. My goodness it was amazing! We were blown away with the food. We shared some entrees to start and loved...everything our fav were the witlof, salmon, and house pate. I had the trout for main and it was delicious! The wine list was great as well, amazing selection and variety! Jodie and her team were amazing and looked after us very well. We will definitely be back!
To the owner (Jodie), If you only knew how you made us feel tonight. You came to our table, no eye contact, with a tired and angry demeanour... huffing under your breath as a group came in “oh here they come”.. we overheard your lovely...young male waiter say “be happy” to another angry frustrated female waitress. Whatever the problem may have been, there is no excuse to take out your frustrations on your customers. You asked me what I’d like to drink, and didn’t even acknowledge my wife.. and walked away. I had to call you back to ask you for a drink for her?! We cannot believe the service from yourself and the other younger blonde female staffer. The young male kept his calm amongst the both of you. Poor man. Being a food writer, I will be informing all my colleagues of this awful experience. From a food perspective, the menu was diverse but what we ate was rather dull. Bone marrow was succulent but didn’t pair well with burnt bread. The price did not reflect the quality. Another point to mention for anyone being a non local, you are not part of ‘the in crowd’... we noticed the owner being rather affectionate and welcoming with people she knew, and rather rude and abrasive to all the rest. We would like to say we enjoyed our time, but we cannot. We hope our words help you realise the impact of your actions. If you don’t enjoy serving customers, just invite your friends over for tea. Simple.
