Mr John's Steakhouse - Cozumel

Booked a dinner for New Year's Eve while we spent a week in New Orleans. Overpriced, mediocre food. As my fiance said after we left, “I would have rather gone to Texas Roadhouse.”

Bar area is small and too cramped to eat in and enjoy conversation with other diners.

The service was excellent 10/10. That’s the only reason I am giving this place two stars though. I was extremely excited to take my husband here for his birthday. We did dinner with the family and all of us had the same complaints about the appetizers and side dishes. Expectations were extremely high for this establishment and unmet. Very disappointed with my experience for me and my family after hearing many good things about the restaurant. Ordered bbq shrimp app — this IS NOT bbq shrimp from Nola if you’re familiar with area restaurants — it was crystal hot sauce and butter melted. We had three sea bass entrees and one beef filet. This place does not meet the threshold of fine dining in NOLA. Not worth the time and money considering the quality of the food and dining experience.
