The Fat Grouper - COZUMEL

The Fat Grouper is the resident restaurant for Scuba Club Cozumel. If you book the inclusive meal plan you will receive all three meals. Breakfast is buffet style with a variety of egg dishes - they change daily but there is plenty of selections to choose from; pancakes, hash browns, bacon etc. You will also have a fresh fruit selection (melons - honeydew, cantaloupe, watermelon, pineapple, papaya). They also have yogurts, cereals, juices for those who wish to have lighter fare.Lunches are either chosen from a standard menu or you can select the special of the day.Dinners are a selection of three choices each day. Usually a fish, beef or chicken, pasta and vegetarian. (all meals have a vegetarian selection). The selections range from bland to tasty, just depends on what you select.The lunches and dinners always come with a salad bar of iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, celery, broccoli, cauliflower, shredded carrots, beets, sliced peppers, olives (green and black) beets, potato salad, pasta salad and tuna pasta salad. Desserts change daily and include many favorites, cheesecake, key lime pie etc. The mainstay for desserts are the ice creams. You can have them for lunch and dinner.Make sure you ask for Mario's Mexican, Mayan or Spanish coffees in the evenings. He will show you a spectacular presentation of fire, ice cream, selected liquors and a delectable concoction you will want to partake of - along with an awesome show.

Great food and not expensive. Seafood with Mexican flavors. Very nice. Not romantic and a way out of the hotel strip.
