Bidra med feedbackNothing fancy, but an excellent service by a single waiter bringing delicacies from a mini kitchen. It is a secret how they can make such variety of dishes on the spot with such a full Italian flavor. This time I tried a porcini pasta with so funny looking, but I was rewarded by a magnificent dish. Try to go either early (7PM) or after 10PM and you will be lucky on finding one of the few tables. Very good prices for what you get.
Loved it! Fell in love with Carbonara abroad and its hard to find the real deal; i can happily say i found it here. Two blocks away from Jardin Bicentenario, where tour buses stop.
My partner and I stumbled upon this place after our Über driver dropped us off at the nearby plaza. HANDS DOWN THE BEST FOOD WE HAVE HAD IN DF SINCE ARRIVING SIX DAYS AGO!! wow wow wow! Smiling from ear to ear!!!!The setting is quaint and cozy, maybe ten tops, and the waitstaff and the chef himself were readily available. We ordered just one entree pp as it was late in the afternoon but let me just say, the food is some of the best Italian food either of us has ever had! The lamb ragu was mind-blowing as were the gnocchi done in a cherry tomato sauce.Highly highly recommend!!!!!!!!
I had passed by this restaurant once without giving it much notice. No pretense, no posers, no over-the-top artwork and embellishment. Simply quaint and cozy. When a friend suggested we stop by for a bottle of wine and a light bite, it turned out to be the most fortuitous culinary coincidence I have experienced in Mexico City.Two small tables outside and maybe 4 or 5 indoors make this a shoebox sized eatery. We had a great bottle of Sicilian wine and a cheese plate with artisanal breads that were both robust with flavor and textures. Later we tried the gnocchi with a strong Italian cheese (from the Treviso region) and radicchio. Far and away the best gnocchi I have eaten anywhere (including Italy). Turns out the owner, Chef Umberto from Brescia, and his sous chef, Fernando from Florence, were both there that evening. Umberto told us everything was made fresh, from scratch, and that in the bresaola in our cheese plate he had prepared from a recipe handed down by his grandfather. The entire staff was attentive and friendly. We finished off with a truly exceptional tiramisu (not my favorite dessert, but this one blew me away), and topped it off with an Amaro Montenegro (from Bologna, again my favorite digestivo). And as a send off, the chef sent over a couple of shots of grappa infused with wild cherry that was a show-stopper. With tip all-in, we walked away from one of the most stellar meals I have ever enjoyed for maybe $100. And well-worth every single penny of it. It simple doesn't get any better than this.
We had lunch today and although we had to wait as the service was slow, it was worth while. The food is outstanding. We had the octopus and arugula salad with figs and hazelnuts. Tagliatelle with porcini, pasta with shrimps, rissotto with seafood. The semifredo with chocolate and chile to die for....
