Bidra med feedbackI'm giving 3 stars for the food. I didn't eat as I only wanted soup and they had no vegetarian option but everyone else raved. Service was joyless but sufficient. My main complaint is the acoustics it was not full in there but the noise was overwhelming. We couldn't hear each other at all. If only a couple of those windows actually opened to let some sound out. Also not impressed with the heavy masculine decor. The table and my chair was made for a 6 foot man, which I am not.
Start with the service.. Some of the worst we have ever had. The service was the absolute shits, the waitress came up to our table with her hands in her pockets, no smile, no hello no greeting no nada and just said, wha are you ordering Rude right off the bat and very unpleasing. We both ordered the $24 Katsu bowls and wish we never did. While the food looked delicious-it tasted quite the opposite and was very poorly put together. No seasoning in the food (salt would have gone a long way) and both were very very heavy in the sauce that was flavourless. We would never eat here again based on the service alone. The food was the added oomph we needed to never come back again.
This place is on the top floor of the ocean suites Hotel and well worth a visit. It's popular on weekends so be sure to book so you can get a waterfront seat. It's quite spacious and the view alone is worth it, absolutely gorgeous with the mountains and Bay through the large windows that make the most of it. Service was always very friendly and accommodating when we've been and food is solid. Some creative options to choose from, comfort foods and fresh seafood. The kids meals were some of the best we've encountered in recent times. Kids burger and chips were beyond a child's portion and the burger looked so good I wanted to dive in! They make it as kid friendly as possible, just the burger patty, cheese and ketchup, but the cheese is practically oozing out of a nicely toasted bun and the fries are quite tasty. I ended up requesting some for my meal! The mains are hearty and well made, however for the price point I find the size of chicken was a little on the small side. On a previous visit I tried the millionaires meatloaf which sounded amazing, and was good, but not quite what I expected. While it says bacon wrapped Wagyu, that beef is actually in meatloaf form. I suppose I assumed it to be more of a small steak wrapped in bacon instead. One thing that would be good to see on this menu is a true surf and turf. The starters were all wonderful that we tried. I particularly enjoyed the crab dip. Also their cocktail menu had some interesting choices and come in a 3oz I think it was jug option size as a single serving as well. If you're staying here, one thing to note is that while they don't serve breakfast, they do offer it as a room service option if you order the day before. All in all, well worth a visit. And book ahead to ensure a window seat!
Delicious Surf Surf with mussels and scampi, my husband had the miso glacéd salmon with coconut rice (loved it). I really appreciated that they offer fresh vegetables as sides to the Kids menu instead of the standard fries too. Swift service. Stunning views across the lake and the harbor!
We discovered this local gem via the local Kerry Park Islanders hockey team! A parent of a player we were billiting stayed at the hotel when he travelled to come and watch his son play and gifted us with a very generous gift certificate to this fabulous restaurant. Pimped out Caesar's left barely enough room for our entree's. The place was very busy for a dismal Saturday afternoon but the food was hot, timely, and delicious. Table 32.1420hrs. Thank you!
