La Porchetta Phillip Island - Cowes

The food and service was fantastic. The staff were so attentive and very kind. Moving on to the food, the carbonara was a 10 and the gnocchi was so soft and comes highly recommended. The let down was the pizza, which was very sub par with a soggy crust. Would I visit again? Yes but I would opt for the pasta’s instead of the pizza’s.

I was slightly dubious as my experiences with La Porchetta (depending on the location) are wildy on the opposing ends of the spectrum, either being really good or really bad. I am happy to say this was one of those really good visits. We came in late on Wednesday night (my partner, myself and my daughter) so we expected the place to be only slightly busy. There were a couple of families enjoying their night and the lovely wait staff very quickly seated us with a chirpy and positive attitude. The establishment was very clean and well ordered and we were given a few minutes to sit and peruse the menu before we were politely asked for our orders. The orders came promptly and well presented, showing the chef has pride in his work. There were no complaints about the meals, as all were as described in the menu and nothing was overcooked. Ultimately the experience deserves a 5 star rating, not in the sense of fine dining and a food extravaganza, but more that there was no negative in the experience and everything was either pleasant or higher. I would happily take my family back there.

While there are fancy restaurants at Cowes, the laporchetta here is reliable. The food, service and prices are consistent with other good la porchettas. I also highly appreciate that they have a parent room and baby chairs.

The food was yummy My husband got the entree gnocchi pesto and I got the entree spaghetti and meatballs. We also got wedges for a starter and shared a medium half and half pizza (American and La Porchetta Original). The entree portions of the pasta are delightfully large and were both delicious. The pizza was delicious but it wasn't as praiseworthy as the pasta but I very much enjoyed the American pizza. The meatballs on the spaghetti were very delicious. The wedges starter are huge portions too. Overall I enjoyed my experience, the staff were friendly, the food was yum, and the atmosphere was casual. If you're looking for an italian restaurant with spaghetti and meatballs here it is because apparently the other italian restaurants in the area do NOT have spaghetti and meatballs.
