Bidra med feedbackWe came across this place earlier this year on a trip North and had the opportunity to stop there again recently. Let me say, it doesn't disappoint. This is Americana at its best. You get good food in good size portions with great service . I chose the breaded pork tenderloin this time around and would recommend it to anyone.
Excellent food and service! Tried the strawberry rhubarb pie it was ok, love the Oreo pie tried a new one, will go back to the Oreo. My husband loves the chocolate peanut butter pie.
Our waitress acted like we were a nuisance and not a customer. She said she would come back and bring us more coffee but never did. Brought us our bill with our food and never came back to check on us. We really wanted pie but was never even asked if we wanted any to go with our cold coffee. The young girl who took our money was as rude as the waitress. We have been here several times but unfortunately this will be the last. We tip very well depending on our service. We tipped $0.
Very friendly hometown restaurant with a good menu. They have a smoker and great pulled pork. Overall good menu and service
We have heard rave reviews about this place. So, living out of state currently, and visiting family, this restaurant was suggested. We came in at 7:00pm on Friday, June 13th. It was busy but not crazy busy. We were a large group who came in. We were greeted by a pleasant server who took our drink order. He was however replaced by a very curt, no nonsense waitress who ended up slamming down the kids dinner plates and the bill. She must have have had a very rough day. I hope she is not like that daily. My husband and I had the chicken noodles over mashed potatoes. They would have been superb but it seems like more than one cook came through and salted the heck out of the noodles. They were briny and if it hadn’t been for the potatoes having no salt on them, they would have been inedible. The cranberry salad was alright. The pies were ok. Getting the food was very slow, too. Not sure why that was. I will say the atmosphere was cozy and cute. Love the mom and pop vibe and want to support mom and pop businesses. I will give the restaurant a second chance at some future date as they may have been having an off day. It won’t be any time soon because we do not live in the Illinois/Indiana area.
