Rose Of Bengal - Coventry

All the reviews on this site are from when the previous owner ran the restaurant. He established the takeaway's reputation based on excellent food, which attracted loyal customers who didn't mind traveling across the city to eat there. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my recent meal from the new owners. The prices have increased, while the portion sizes and quality have decreased. I will not be returning to this restaurant.

I have heard about this restaurant for years and finally had the opportunity to try it when I was in Redford recently. The food was fantastic, with a variety of flavorful dishes packed beautifully to take home. The staff was friendly and I would definitely return again.

We have been frequenting this takeout restaurant for 26 years and it continues to serve the best curry we have ever tasted. The Chilli Chicken Masala is made madras hot and is absolutely delicious. The chicken is tender and cooked off the bone, unlike the processed meat used in other places. The only downside we found was that the onion bhajis were too hard and looked more like burgers than the soft bhajis we prefer. Despite this, the food offers great value for money. The restaurant is run by a friendly family who are polite and courteous.

Like the previous review I have been using The Rose of Bengal for about 35 years and I thought it was time I showed my appreciation by writing a review. It has been one the great constants in my adult life. Always run by the same people and the food always the same great quality. You can’t beat a good curry. I’d like to say thank you!

Awful. We had 4 items, they all tasted the same and had the texture of brown mush. Chicken was dry and fibrey. Cheese naan was cold with half melted cheese dumped on top. I have never had the misfortune to experience such garbage before. If I could've been bothered I'd have taken it back. Foul.
