Very well eaten, very well received, very isolated
Even as a hiker traveling alone, I was warmly welcomed and served excellently. Thank you very much for your hospitality.
Courtételle (Jura): less than 4 km from the town of Delémont, capital of the Jura, is the beautiful village of my childhood where I return on certain special occasions! For example, in this Friday, 15.11.2019, I was present at the reunion of my friends, the contemporaries of 1939, associated with those of 1938 and 1940! And as usual, it is with mastery that these beautiful meetings were prepared by Huguette, Canep and Véronique whom we thank for everything ! Destination: via a well-maintained but narrow forest path, we arrive at an altitude of 940 m at the Ferme-Inn Les Fouchies very popular with hikers who stop there to eat, because it has a good reputation, but open to this season, only from Friday, Saturday until 10 p.m. and Sunday at 6 p.m.! Once all participants are present, we sit down at the table! And, we start with the aperitif: a slice of St-Martin cake with a rosé or white wine followed by a red wine with a delicious well-filled homemade sauerkraut and we finish with as dessert, in its glass jar, a good ice cream drizzled with Abricotine without forgetting the coffee! What else do the people ask for? Speeches and songs and reviewing old and recent photo albums with beautiful memories without forgetting to remember our dearly departed! After thanking the boss for this good, unforgettable meal, we prepare to leave for our respective homes after hugs and many wishes to see each other again in the near future and good health! On this Wednesday, 02/08/2023, my thoughts go to Courtételle (Jura), the village where I spent my childhood and adolescence and also, in memory of the late Mr. Ernest Guélat, my primary school teacher in 3rd grade with multiple talents including that of a painter. This is why I am attaching one of my drawings from 1975 with a poetic thought on the site of the Ferme-Auberge des Fouchies of which I have fond memories with my contemporaries from 1939!
