The Wicket Gate - County Durham

Daytime visit to watch the football and have some food. Only 1 TV in the place so very restricted as to were you can sit, not helpful when you have a disabled person with you who finds it difficult to sit on a high table. Food as you would expect from a Wetherspoons- basic and reasonably priced.

Probably the best Wetherspoons in the area. It’s got a very nice rooftop beer garden terrace, and was recently refurbished to a high standard. Staff are pleasant and efficient. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

On Friday he visited here, but forgot it was half-term, so after he expected that it was on the quiet side it was packed and loud, but our meal of cadjau, chips and mushy was worth every penny, only the next time I could order the smaller part. the menu was quite extensive, we will be back, but probably in the middle of the week and look forward to a nice warm summer where we will explore the beer garden. good the money
