Bidra med feedbackI share experiences of Sydney top-dining frequenting all offerings from Muse Hunter Valley to Briars Inn Burradoo. And prior with Oncore Crown. Well just to say Cottage Point never fails to rejuvenate their menu. With a sojourn post-covid it has been a baptismal return with impeccable ultimatum. This is not innovation. It is invention. A complete transformation of the degustation scene. Well done to owners. You are soon well on the way to keeping an institution. Staff were as unassuming as endearingly usual.
We need a six stars for those special occasion where the atmosphere, location and food perfectly match each other. Located on the water with sweeping views of the river, you can feel the hustle and bustle of city life washaway from you. Then the bread came out. How can bread roll taste this good? The garlic butter, such a simple concept, had complexity that compelled us to gobble the bread as quickly as we could. We had to have a second serving! Usually when we are served a 5 or 8 course meal, there will be some components that is slightly below the other dishes. Not at this restaurant! Every dish that came out had flavours with layers of complexity; and the flavours all seem to match each other, elevating the dishes to a height we haven't been, surpassing any fine dining establishments we have been to. Everything was perfectly prepared and we had such a wonderful experience that we will be heading back very soon, even if they have not changed the courses.
This is a very high end dining experience in a remote and dramatic location. The creativity, visual presentation and flavours are among the best I’ve experienced in Sydney. The service can be a little haphazard but the food and the location more than compensate! Go for lunch. Service: 4
If you want a truly special and spectacular experience whether your a tourist or an Aussie then treat yourself to the water plane to Cottage Point Inn for a fine dining 5 course degustation luncheon. Arriving in truly James Bond style in one of Sydney’s Seaplanes (you can drive), the Cottage Point Inn is nestled against a lush cliff in Kuringai Chase National Park directly on the Hawkesbury River. Sensational service, divine food, wine and breathtaking atmosphere. A once in a lifetime experience and a perfect way to share some of Sydney’s iconic vistas and landscapes with our friends from Sweden.
My husband and I dined here for the second time recently. We had the five course degustation menu. The waiter offered us oysters to start (in addition) but failed to inform us that 12 oysters was over $100. The portions were tasty, but very small so we were not full by the time we finished the meal. Unfortunately when I got home I was sick and my husband was not feeling the best either. I contacted the restaurant twice but did not receive a response. Evidently no one wants to spend $700 on a meal to only throw it up later!
