Kanok Thai Bistro - Costa Mesa

When my boss treated me to lunch, he made sure to include alcohol which was a nice surprise. He gave me his credit card to pick up a bottle of Barolo from a wine cellar on Tuesday to go with our Italian meal. On Thursday, we decided to try something different and ended up at a Thai restaurant with a bottle of Spanish Red. Kanok, located just around the corner, offered a variety of dishes that we could share, which is common in Asian cuisine. We ordered Drunken Noodles, Pad See Ew, Chicken Satay, and their Thai Sampler. While everything was decent, it was not particularly spectacular, more like typical Thai takeout. Just a heads up, the food didn't really pair well with the 2017 Muga Rioja we had. Just a friendly reminder.

The food was good. They were very generous and let us celebrate a birthday by bringing a cake from outside too! They even gave us plates and utensils! Super Service!

Our favorite Thai restaurant here in Costa Mesa. Food and service is excellent. The bathrooms are also clean which says a lot in a restaurant. Two of our favorite dish are the Thai sampler and Pad Woon Sen as shown on these photos.

I can't wait to eat here again. The Curry Trio was really convenient. Crispy Basil Pork ewww sooo good! Pad Thai was perfectly cooked. I made the mistake of eating the Pad Thai last so the flavor strength was corrupted by the other dishes. I did take off one star for pricing/portion. If your going to charge top dollar the portions should reflect the prices. With a portion increase this place would be a solid 5 stars! A shout out to our waitress, we never had an empty water glass...she got skills!

Using my keen eye for Thai cuisine, I discovered this hidden gem in a remote shopping Plaza. Let me tell you, this place is absolutely amazing. The Pad Thai was a perfect combination of sweet and savory flavors. The Thai Tea with boba rivaled that of any high-end boba shop. The Chicken Sate with Peanut Sauce is a must-try, and the Mango Salad is refreshing, satisfying, and simply delicious. It truly feels like an authentic Thai dining experience. The service was excellent as well, with a kind and attentive server who ensured our food arrived promptly. Whether you're looking for a romantic evening with your significant other or a formal dinner with your boss, this restaurant comes highly recommended for all your cravings of delicious Thai cuisine.
