Hole In The Wall Burger - Costa Mes

This place is called Katsuysaki now!! I guess the hole in the wall got patched up. Ha haa

It was a quick and mediocre burger combo meal for a cheap price. Works in a hurry but not something to seek out. I ordered ahead and picked up my California Burger Combo hot and fresh. The burger sounds good on paper with swiss cheese (my favorite), grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, fried egg, avocado, and a signature sauce. It was bland, definitely needed more sauce (either ketchup or signature sauce would have helped, I learn towards Sig Sauce). The avocado slipped out the back and while creamy toned down the flavors. The onions were barely grilled (more like hot sliced onions). The Signature Sauce is similar to Thousand Island dressing or In-N-Out sauce, is the strongest flavor but was not applied heavily enough. I was excited by the waffle-cut fries in past pictures, but the combo came with normal cut fries. They look seasoned, but I didn't taste much of that. They came with a side of the signature sauce which was great for dipping the fries in, and I would ask for an extra sauce next time.

This place is exactly what it's name is... a hole in the wall but WOWWWWWW the burger is FANTASTIC. If you're driving by and think you're at the wrong place... YOURE NOT!!! The burger was cooked fresh and to PERFECTION! The fries were great and The signature sauce is a MUST try that rivals any burger sauce I've had (yes even in n out or any of your favorite burger spots). If you want a fresh burger at a good price then you HAVE to come here now. I just can't wait for tomorrow so i can come back and have the breakfast!

We really like our burgers. I had a California which was delicious and my daughter had the Cheeseburger plain which she also devoured and she is a picky eater. My son an wife both had spicy chicken sandwiches. They enjoyed them a lot. The fries were the bomb. Coming back fo' sho!

First time I have tried this place as we are on the other side of the bay from Costa Mesa and quite frankly don't make the drive that often. Was craving a good juicy burger...had the CA Burger and loaded fries...it was one of the best burgers I have had for quite some time!! Big, juicy and well balanced!! Loaded fries were too much for just one person and were great as well!! And the guys running the joint were nice and presented service with a smile!!! I WILL BE BACK...
