Bidra med feedbackGreat roadside Bar for a coffee.. Directly opposite the Europa Hotel. Friendly staff, clean and free to use toilets. Great coffee/ cappuccino and fresh cornetti.
This little place was directly opposite our hotel so it seemed criminal not to try. There was a few locals at the bar as we went in so we sat down. The owner came over shortly and we asked if it was possible to eat there. There was a little language barrier but we got there in the end! I asked for a particular wine, she didn 't have it but, she recommended one which turned out to be really nice. The food was honest and tasty, no frills and not expensive. The chat from the locals at the bar was nice to hear as there are lots of places very touristy . I 'd definitely return, even just for some drinks and local banter.
We were a little tired of the in town places in Cortina. Everywhere was very hard to get into (ok, we procrastinated too , but we have a 7 month old baby girl on East Coast time with us and we just weren't sure when we could sit down to eat. My husband thought he remembered a nice restaurant on the drive in so we hopped in our car and checked it out, coming across La Scaletta in the Cima hotel. We walked in and no one was there (yet... we were very early due to baby the restaurant filled up by the time we left! , were greeted in a wine cellar with a glass of prosecco and antipasti. After we got to our table, we ordered an EXCELLENT bottle of Bolgheri (at a wonderful price.. I was shocked ; the sommelier was extremely knowledgeable albeit very family style, which was nice. We ordered the green tagliatelle with vegetables and the grilled meat platter for two. Truly amazing food..way too much to eat, but we are very happy we went to this restaurant. We'll be back, thanks for the service and food!
Based on the previous reviews I popped in for some gluten free pizza. Unfortunately, they no longer serve gluten free :
So happy to have this restaurant recommended by Hotel Europa. Dined there each day of our trip as they offered a full and authentically italian gluten free menu. The service was wonderful and they turned out to have some of the best GF pizza my boyfriend has ever had. Hope we can return again soon!
