Bidra med feedbackTo start with the pros: The Ship has lovely staff, it’s in a great location and is dog friendly. The food is fine, but very much average pub grub if you are after gastric fare look elsewhere. What struck me as odd was how anti children the landlord appears to be. There are signs all over the place instructing families that children are to remain seated at all times, are not allowed in the bar (even if their dad was just ordering a round of drinks to take outside) and how the beer garden isn’t a ‘kindergarten’. Perhaps they have had a bad experience of being overrun by families, but families with kids should bear in mind before visiting as the expectation is that children should be seen and not heard. On the plus side, (perhaps begrudgingly) they have a kids menu!
The Ship Inn can be summarised as having great food, well kept ales and friendly staff. The menu is broad with something to suit everyone's tastes. I tried the Daal Curry which was very authentic and tasty. My partner enjoyed the steak pie. Thanks to Jane and her team for a very pleasant evening.

Delicious food and excellent friendly service. Catered for all our food needs, including vegan. Would thoroughly recommend.
The landlord, landlady and bar staff are so friendly, we have been here 3 times during our stay and had some lovely chats. We had the lamb shanks and battered seafood, both were delicious and great value. I highly recommend this pub for food, drink, and excellent service!
