Bidra med feedbackFabulous seafood place in the centre of the village and offering an excellent choice of shellfish and fish dishes. We stopped for lunch on a wet weekday in half term week in Oct and were met with an excellent menu choice, so much so that we over ordered as we couldnt decide what to leave out. I had the mackerel pate and monk fish thai curry, my wife started with oysters, the chilli prawns and dressed crab. All the dishes were fantastic and my wife (a seafood expert) said the crab was the best she had ever had. The meal was accompanied by local beer and cider, the staff are friendly and attentive and the decor gives that special beach bar feel. Overall superb and we will be back next time we are in Aggie.
Dropped in when perusing the local cafes and restaurants in St Agnes; very glad we did! Warm welcome from the owner. Good range of local ales and lagers the Padstow Pilsner was an epic suggestion. We had the prawn sub, nachos and mackerel pate which were all delicious, and very fresh. Just a chilled and pleasant, easy lunch. Would recommend in a heartbeat…
After reading several reviews that said great food, visited for dinner which was just a set menu. The starter we had was crab profiterole, which was fair. The main course was fish stew, which I would say was overpriced. A broth with a few noodles, pieces of salmon white fish with a couple of pieces of asparagus, couple of other little things in the stew, it came in a very small bowl with 3 very small pieces of bread. I have had a good few fish Stew's in different places. The service we received was very good. The food I am afraid was not worth the money we paid.
Go here it is amazing! We popped in for lunch at this unassuming deli/restaurant, having been drawn in by the menu in the window. I am so glad that we did. The atmosphere is lovely relaxed, friendly, helpful, welcoming. And the food is absolutely 5 star. We've travelled a lot and I make a point of trying the fish soup whenever it's on a menu this was simply the best fish soup I have ever had. We could have stopped there, but there were too any other delicious things on the menu that we wanted to try. So we had the prawn marie rose roll (juicy prawns, fresh salad leaves, tangy sauce) and the mackerel pate (smooth, served with samphire and chunks of soft brown bread). There was a white rioja available which I would have loved to try, but we were driving so had to settle for the cloudy lemonade, which was very good. Such a treat to find first class fish, served simply but beautifully, cooked by someone who really cares and who takes the time to make you feel really welcome, Thank you, Matt. We will be back again very soon.
The service at this restaurant was exceptional and the atmosphere was also top-notch.
