Pavilion Ice Luxury Hand Made Cornish Ice Cream Parlour

We always make sure we visit when we’re on holiday in Cornwall, my favourite ice cream parlour. Lovely flavours, and reasonably priced compared to other parlours in Cornwall. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in perranporth for the day!

Been several times before and loved it, but this time disappointed with flavours could hardly taste any lavender in the blackberry and lavender, the cherry nut just had an overwhelming taste of almond essence, the rum raisin was unbelievably sweet, and the one I chose fudge turned out to be just vanilla, with literally one tiny piece of fudge … not sure what’s happened. Would probably try once more to give benefit of doubt.

Came in today to buy 2 ice creams for myself and partner. None of the staff (3 women) were wearing gloves and were very unwelcoming. I asked one of the girls (nicely and quietly, so I didn’t cause a scene or embarrass them) if she could pop some gloves on before handling the cones as I could see all staff members taking cash payment and handling other jobs (cleaning etc) and touching their faces then handling cones. This is a perfectly reasonable request and should be followed anyway with food hygiene standards and covid. She refused to do so and explained 3 times that everything already has germs on it and “we’ve all handled everything without gloves” so it shouldn’t matter. I tried calming her down and explained it wasn’t personal, and that I had asked nicely and QUIETLY. She was the one causing a scene, and then she refused to serve me. A different lady served me and popped gloves on. I received no apology and asked for a manager. The girl said he had “popped” out. Extremely rude and unhelpful. Ice cream was tasty, service was TERRIBLE. It’s really not hard to just put some gloves on. The young lady (blonde hair) made it into something much bigger and wasted my time, and her time. Get better staff.

Large selection to choose from and the flavours we had were lovely. Recommended by all 4 of us who visited.
