Bidra med feedbackWas looking for a restaurant in the area we were passing thru and this one came up. There is a chain of restaurant/lounges in Florida by the same name and wondered if they were related. They are not. Not knowing that at the time tho we decided to check it out for that reason plus one of the reviews stated they had the best Salmon he had ever tasted and he was from Florida. So that cinched it. Being from Florida we have been hard pressed to find really good restaurants in northern Ga that compare, so the sound of really good Salmon was too good to pass up. So, I ordered the Salmon and my wife ordered the Sirloin, and we shared our meals for a little surf and turf. 1st the Salmon. It was available in two styles. Blackened or Jamaican Jerk. I thought this is not good choices here as I prefer my fish grilled or broiled. Experience has taught me that blackened is usually dried out and destroys the fish, so I thought I'll try the jerk. Being from SOFO, Um very familiar with Jerk spices and cooking, and I do like a spicy dish, so that was my choice, but was suspicious as to how it would turn out. As was typical for restaurants in N Ga the fish was over cooked and dry, but the flavoring was good and not very spicy. The secret to good favorable fish is cook it just long enough for the fish to begin to flake, yet remain soft and juicy. This was not that, but rather, hard and crumbly. Of course any chef can have a bad day and can get overwhelmed in the kitchen, and fish has to be closely monitored when cooking to know the precise moment to remove it from the heat. Next the steak. My wife usually prefers ribeye steak, but they only offered sirloin, so she ordered it rare. A nice juicy plump of medium rare was delivered to our table. The steak was tender and juicy and flavorful so much so that my wife that it was in par with a ribeye. One side of the steak was blackened and salt encrusted. And a little too salty. But overall a nice blending of flavors. Would definitely order again. Mine came with white rice and she ordered the loaded bake potato. The rices was just typical white rice. The potato was a little hard and slightly undercooked for me. I like my potato soft that can be mashed easily with my fork to mix in the butter and sour cream. This one not so much. The atmosphere was typical for a sports lounge with TV's everywhere and football games playing but not really loud. My wife and I could converse easily over dinner. There was also a good selection of beer in tap. Overall a pleasant dining experience. I would not recommend the Salmon, but the steak was excellent.
Service was great and our order came pretty quick. The hamburgers were good. The fries were waffle style and tasted like they were reheated and semi hard. The chili was meat only, salty and not that good. It took longer than normal for us to get our check.
Friendly staff and the food is so yummy!! We love going out to eat here when we are visiting our daughters in Toccoa!
Great food and atmosphere but wouldn’t sit us at one of 4 open tables because we only had 3 people. Nothing to do with lack of servers, only party size. Made us wait 15-20min for a booth. Absolutely ridiculous.
Loved that they had gluten-free pizza crust. The first pizza I had in years. Crust could have been cooked a little longer, but good overall. Options for everyone.
