The Five Mile Inn was recently praised on RedFM as having the best breakfast in Cork, and I must say I completely agree with that assessment. While it may not be the most extravagant breakfast, a good Irish breakfast should be all about delicious food, tea, toast, and friendly service - and that's exactly what we experienced. The breakfast items were all delicious and well prepared, including sausage, bacon, black pudding, fried egg, mushrooms, potato, and tomato. The toast was perfectly sliced and generously buttered, the tea was excellent, and the server and owner were very hospitable. We enjoyed three full breakfasts, multiple refills of tea, extra toast, a waffle with caramel sauce, more toast, a glass of fresh orange juice, and four snack bars, all for under €50. Definitely deserving of its praise on RedFM!
Got takeaway here last Sunday, for Father's day and others were calling to home so didn't want to dine out on the day. Got Salmon (x2), Roast beef, Roast ham and Steakburger, so 5 in all. Cost was very reasonable, plates were all cleared at the end but everyone felt they'd had a good meal, so portions were just right for us. Was well wrapped, plastic box and then wrapped in tin foil, didn't need to be heated when I got home with it (about 10 mins drive). Will be using them again in future, either dine in or takeaway I think!
A group of eighteen of us had a wonderful two course meal recently. The food was first class and service efficient and very friendly. Not one dissenting voice from the group! Thanks to all at the Five Mile Inn.
