Castro's Bar & Restaurant

As far as I can say that this restaurant has recently changed names. it is now a restaurant at one end and a bar at the other. restaurant bright, bright decor. wait coworkers, emily and eva excellent, they were happy and knew their menu. we divided a...Zucchini flower (except with mozzarella, anchovies and above with parmesan). haupt was a mild salami pizza, quite delicious. they still tink with a little wine list. I would have allowed an evaluation of "Good"had tripadviser.

We booked a table for two. the service was great to begin but slowly wavy. we had the arancini, a pizza, seafood pata and two desserts. Everything was okay, but not fantastic. the seafood in the pasta were good, but the sauce was missing something....Pizza was quite average for the price. overall an expensive dinner for a good eating.

Upon arrival, we were seated at a couple of tables as the customers in front of us left due to the loud noise from a large group of diners. This seemed like a strange way to treat customers - are they interested in our business or not? We paid $18 for three prawns and a rocket bruschetta, which was just okay. When our 10-inch pizza arrived for $26, we felt uncomfortable eating it there so we ended up taking it to go. We support local businesses and understand prices may be higher due to COVID losses, but $65 for three people is excessive. My partner's parents recently bought an apartment nearby, so we visit Coolum often but probably won't be returning to this restaurant.

The dining experience was excellent with a wide selection of dishes on the menu and beautifully presented. The ambiance was also beautiful. The service was top-notch with friendly staff.

I ordered a Glutenfree meal (pasta) and was reassured it was Glutenfree. Glutenfree was also requested when making the booking. The meal arrived and non Glutenfree pasta was mixed in. I was then told I should have been clearer about needing GF
