Baked Poetry Cafe - Coolum Beach

This well run cafe has a relaxed atmosphere in line with the coastal vibe of Peregian Beach, a shirt run south of Noosa. Tasty variety of food juices and coffees. Thought the serving size was a little small for the mid range prices. The service was quick and friendly.

A visit to Noosa wouldn't be the same without a trip to Baked Poetry for coffee and their fabulous Raspberry Crumble Cake. It never disappoints.

We went there to have coffees, cookies and cakes. The staffs (all 3 staffs: coffee maker, and the two others waitresses) look hungry and not happy to be there and serve people. We went to the counter and the lady with short hairs asked us to repeat the order a few times. Then, when asking for a latte, they brought us a glass with froth milk and a shot of coffee on the side.

Go elsewhere. I paid $17 for breakfast (see attached photo) and it was served without much care. Other dishes were just as underwhelming. Trying to be fancy with Eggs in a Glass was just plain stupid. Not sure if they were having a bad day, however I will not give them the opportunity to redeem themselves with so many other options around.

The coffee and pastries were lovely. Hot milk in a glass and adding your shot was not impressive. But coffee was ok otherwise. Issue was that I am allergic to nuts and ordered the fruit bread. It looked lovely but one bite and I realised it had nuts in the bread. I spoke to the manager who gave me a croissant instead but she was not very concerned about her lack of information on the menu to reflect menu items with common allergens. I always ask if I'm concerned with foods but I did not expect nuts in fruit bread. She wasn't worried at all given I said my day was ruined as I would be very sick within an hour. She said it was too much time/money to update the menu, she'd been there for 20 years and never had an issue. I was very disappointed and warned her that next time, a person who has an anaphylactic reaction might more serious than me. Not going back and just shocked at her response and reaction.
