Bidra med feedbackLovely place to stop off for a hot drink and a hot meal. Good selection of snacks, childrens meals and breakfast options (served until 12:00)
After a morning exploring the Welsh Mountain Zoo we needed a sit down and a bite to eat to recharge ready for more of the same in the afternoon. Having been quickly welcomed and seated it was not long before we were admiring the view of the bay. We had a relatively light lunch and all was hot, delivered quickly and absolutely delicious.
We had lunch here today for burgers chips and cokes and a children s meal 48 pounds ,that price is disgusting in these times ,never again we will now take a pack lunch .
It was like being served by Basil Fawlty!! There was only 2 people in front of me but waited ages. The woman serving walked away half way through serving the customer in front of me to clean up a spill, but she didn 't say anything, just walked away, and no apology when she returned, bearing in mind there was a queue. Some people actually left the queue as they were sick of waiting. The server then said very rudely that anyone ordering hot food had to do so on the screen, despite having already served people for hot food, she said even the lady behind me, who by this point had been queuing with me for over 10 mins had to leave the queue and order at the screen (she didn 't leave the queue as that wouldn 't have been fair on her . When I finally got to order it was as though I was troubling her by ordering. I asked for hot food (yes I wasn 't leaving the queue either and a sandwich, to which she asked if it was a large or small sandwich; as the sandwiches on display were all the same size I asked what the difference was and this just seemed to annoy her. I asked for a plate for the sandwich to be informed there were no plates just napkins(bearing in mind this says its a restaurant . So ordering done I sat down to wait for our number to be called so I could collect the food. Once called our hot food was served to us in a paper bag in cardboard cartons (restaurant quality 'eh?! . The chips were tepid at best and the special hot roast pork sandwich was 'meh. And talk about expensive.... It cost me the best part of £20 for a ham sandwich, crisps, chips, pork sandwich and 3 drinks. Calling this place a restaurant is really stretching it, expensive greasy spoon would be a better choice of words. The thing is, the zoo is great but this place is an embarrassment to it. They need to drop the prices if they can 't even serve food on plates and employ someone who 's more cheerful and much less rude.
It's a push to call it a restaurant at best. Food in boxes, no plates, no waiters/waitresses just a grumpy lady serving who blames the big queue on the customers not on the fact she buggered off for 10 minutes. The zoo is great, this place was not.
