Bidra med feedbackWhen the Kokoda Track Cafe staff informed customers that the restaurant had been closed since December 2021, it prevented travelers from making unnecessary trips only to find it closed. This situation may indicate a lack of communication or responsibility on the part of Canada Bay Council. The closure was disappointing as the cafe was known for serving delicious meals.
Beautiful caffe near concord hospital, but in a garden near the water. so close to concord road, but they would never know. very reasonable meals in the local style and it is open daily, except Monday. many parking places. take a casual or fleeting walk along the Kokoda hiking trail around the waterway.
We parked in the free bray bay reserve to walk its 800 commute to foot. halfway along the winding path is this beautiful caffe with a cheap breakfast and lunch menu along with a sign for specials. we considered coffee as the perfect place to relax, surrounded by vegetation, trees and the sounds of birds. clean toilets are located next door and covered picnic tables near.
I discovered this cafe while walking along the Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway and decided to stop for lunch. I was very pleased with the service and the food. I ordered the Grilled Atlantic Salmon, which was a special for $18.00. I was impressed by the generous portion size and the delicious quality of the meal, which came with chips, a tasty salad, and some fruit. The coffee was also reasonably priced.
This lovely, unassuming blast from the past is run by lovely older couple with wonderful old fashioned service. We ordered fish and chips and the food was unexpectedly good. It was great value at $17: 2 fillets of market fresh fish encased in a well-seasoned,...light batter and served with chips, fresh fruit and salad. There are also kids meals and Seniors discounts. Other items we were tempted to order included the ginger beer spider. The coffee was so-so, but you got a giant mugful. We ate in the lovely courtyard space filled with tropical plants: chillis in pots and a banana tree, amongst others. There's also a cute little section with Kokoda memorabilia for sale. There's lots of room for kids to run around, and a wonderful playground at Brays Bay Reserve near the Rhodes train station end of the Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway.
