Bidra med feedbackWe went there on a four-day visit to the hotel. we suffered as a large group, as we were not allowed to choose from the a la carte menu. salatstarters were not bad, but what followed was overcooked and limited in taste and size portion. when they asked for vegetarian, everything they did was to remove the meat. I can't understand how it gets a high rating, maybe the chef was on holiday. I think it's a bus hotel as there was a 20 group of French Canarians and a large group of Germans. very small French presence.
A short break with Brittany Ferries, just out of season. Meals were very good. Didn 't fancy basic menu de jour on first evening so chose menu Cornouaille. The assiete de pecheur was great 5 oysters, many prawns, langoustines, crab claw a pot of...winkles whelks. The sort of dish where you end up with a large pile of debris (see pix)! Followed by Fillet of John Dory duck breast (tender cooked to perfection). Followed by cheese 'chariot ' a crepes with caramelised apples. Second night the menu de jour was different. Started with assiete de fruit de mer (basically the same as previous night, but slightly smaller) followed by veal chop. Too full for dessert! Reviewing the hotel separately (if possible)
The seafood starter platter was huge very enjoyable. My wife had the pork which she said was perfect I ate the Brill which was part of the evening set menu was outstanding. I finished with the cheese platter which was more than...I could handle my wife had the sorbet which she said half the bar swimming around it made her go wide eyed. We washed it all down with a bottle of house Muscadet which was wonderful. One of the best value meals we had in France, highly recommend.
Day trip to Biarritz from Spain. Spoilt by good food at value prices. Walking the town which was dead this looked a good spot for lunch. Right, good location. Friendly service. Food good from varied menu...but price? No, sorry compare to meal this evening...back in Spain we paid less for 2 course meal drinks (bottle of wine 3 ciders) than 1 course 2 glasses of wine here. Poor value
We had booked a 3-day stay in the hotel over the brittany ferries and spent a whole day exploring the bretagne, we thought we would eat in our first evening in the restaurant. Oh, my God, it was like it was going back in time. musak, couples talk in...whispers, a waiter, who obviously barely tolerated the fact that he had to visit guests. I noticed that I couldn't go through anything in the kitchen when I thought we were sitting right next to the door. I accept that it was a celebration, and I suspect that the cook had the night free. it reminded me seriously of fawlty towers and the "cook 's just opened the tin ' notice. that was terrible. I left most of my meals and when the waiter came to clear the table, he was quite fishing that I 't deleted my plate. he did not ask if there were problems with the meal and, as I had not eaten, I had not felt that I had to give it out! the only trigger factor was the Irish coffee cream brûlée, which I had dessert. I would eat it again, but please don't let me eat the gum truthahn escalope again!
