Bidra med feedbackMy husband and I had lunch on our way to Occhipinti (10 mins away). We asked a lady in the town square for directions and it was coincidentally the daughter of the chef who was on her way to the restaurant. The chef was lovely and the meal even better. It was a set meal of 3 courses caponata and marinated sundried tomatoes, pasta in a light red sauce and finally braised rabbit and pork ribs. What was really sweet was to see that it was a family run restaurant. The chef's wife was there as well as 2 really adorable grandkids. You must go if you are in the area.
I was really pleased to have this dinner experience, there's no banality at all in evry plate proposed by this restaurant. Come here to taste very local-genuine-traditina tasty sicilian food, every plate, from entries till to desserts is deeply related with season and traditions. Great spaghetti con capuliato, Raviolis with prock tomato sauce, many vegetarian choices (also soups! astonishing Cannolo with ricotta cream and also an antique traditional sweet made of grape must, semolina flour and toasted almonds (MUSTATA , Merry atmosphere!
We really enjoyed the local specialites at La Piazzetta and the warm welcome we got from the staff and chef Salvatore. In fact; we loved it so much we visited the restaurant twice this week. Highly recommended!
Chef Salvatore and his daughter Marga were the perfect hosts during our stay near Pedalino. Salvatore treated and surprised us with his culinary experiments and Marga treated us with her beautiful smile and very professional service. Enough choice for us being flexitarians but Salvatore would have done anything to make us happy. Mille grazie e a presto! Cettina, thanks for your soap and Marga, loads of fun and success in London!
