Bidra med feedbackA wonderful stay. Loved the amenities. The gym and the pool are a nice extra for our family. If we had time we would have liked to try the spa and ‘the beach’.Rooms: 5/5
We booked the presidential suite, which was very nice, don’t get me wrong. But it was not worth the price we paid for it and it looking absolutely nothing like the pictures online. The view of the mountains was beautiful. The staff was not as friendly as one would expect when paying so much for a hotel/resort.Rooms: Nothing like what was shown online.Food drinks: Very pricey, although delicious.Noteworthy details: I’ll say again.. our room was nice but looked nothing like the room shown online when we booked the room. It was missing things like bags in the trash can, or trash cans period. It had no tub with jets as it said it would. And our “suite” was two room combined together which I found odd. They also had extremely basic cable.
The lodge was beautiful and grand! Gorgeous views. The rooms were surprisingly standard definitely not worth the high price. We've stayed in much better hotels/resorts for a lot less money. It was disappointing because the lodge was so grand, and we expected the rooms to have that same feel.Rooms: The rooms were clean, but not worth the price paid. The toilets and tub were small and low to the ground. My husband and I felt like we were sitting on a child's toilet. It was weird. The bathroom was dark the only light was the lighted mirror on the wall. So showers were lowly lit since there was no other light fixture.Speaking of light fixtures the room also had very little lighting. There were no overhead light fixtures only one floor lamp (which did not work), one table lamp, and two bedside lamps. None of these put out enough light for me to do my makeup I definitely had to open the curtains for light and let the rest of the resort see into my room. There was a lighted makeup mirror in the bathroom I could plug in but I really needed overhead lights.Another disappointment was that there was a refrigerator but no microwave. For the price of this lodge, that ammenity should have been included especially since we were there 4 nights and sometimes had leftovers from dining out.Food drinks: The food was great quality we enjoyed the meals we ate at the lodge. They even had a respectable dine in menu for room service. The only complaint is that there were few choices on the resort of where we could dine, and very specific (limiting) times available. The main beautiful Mountain Restaurant in the lodge was used only as a breakfast buffet. It did have a great omelet and waffle station! The buffet had a wide variety of hot and cold items served. I am not sure why they close at 10am and don't open up that beautiful space for lunch or dinner. The only lunch dining option was near the golf course at the Gates Grille. You could not eat at the main lodge from 10am to 4pm. There was, however, a super small coffee and gift shop that had sandwiches and breakfast burritos to purchase and a few snacks if you did not want to fine dine.Dinner was offered at Elevations Bar/Restaurant in the main lodge from 4 11pm. There were limited options for food entrees three main entrees listed. We opted for the rib eye entree and the baked chicken entree all cooked and seasoned to perfection! But in terms of choices, even the pasta options were limited the pastas ALL consisted of a variation of macaroni and cheese three options, just other ingredients added to the mac n cheese.Desserts were good, but my husband and I were sadly disappointed when we asked for coffee (to go with our dessert) and were told they don't serve coffee!! What? How do you have a full service bar and restaurant with no coffee? What if I wanted kahlua and coffee? We couldn't even go get coffee at the small coffee shop because they closed already. ?
I wish I had read reviews of this place before we booked this trip, because most of the unfavorable reviews sound like the same complaints we had. When we went to check in, we were given a room number that was already occupied. The door to their room unfortunately did not latch properly and we were able to open it and walk in on a poor woman who said the same thing happened to her the night before...When we did get to an unoccupied room, it was definitely outdated, especially for the price paid for the stay. The shower rod was actually about to fall off of the wall, but the balcony had a nice view. There were no linen to make up the pull out bed, so we called to request some and additional towels since there were only 3 for our 4 person room. Neither were delivered, even by the next morning. The beach had a horrible stench and was covered in goose poop. Additional poop remained on the pool deck and it was clear that the outdoor areas were rarely cleaned. At one point during the trip, we only received decaf K-cups when our room was cleaned. My husband waited in the line for coffee in the lobby for 20 minutes before abandoning due to 10+ people still in line before him. He approached the front desk and was told there were no more regular K cups available. He went to the restaurant to get coffee and was bombarded by a server who told him he would need to pay for the full buffet breakfast in order to get a cup of coffee. He refused, so she called security, who came, and not surprisingly, sympathized with him.We were compensated by the hotel for these issues, but I wanted to post because this was far from the experience we expected from a reputable resort and for the price to book.
Cheyenne Mountain Resort was the best place to stay. Service and amenities completely worth the price and even exceeded our expectations. The pools were great and heated. The lake activities were so fun! The restaurant was delicious. Service was super friendly. I would return in a heartbeat. Love it!Rooms: Great size rooms. Super cold ac, super comfortable beds.
