Bidra med feedbackIf you 're down in Colonial Beach ya have to try Willey 's at the Food Court . Check FB for hours, the local developers are creeping up on em and there 's nobody else at the food court DO NOT MISS OUT. Any restaurant on the water is actually a MD spot and doesn 't help the small town.
We have eaten at Dockside on 2 occasions and will continue to go there each time we visit Colonial Beach. It is a wonderful gathering place with entertainment and great food.
If you're looking to have some beverages, hear live music and enjoy the outside atmosphere this is definitely your place! As far as those things go Dockside checks all the boxes! Let me continue by saying my family didn't get to enjoy any of those things because we were seated in a back room that appeared to be mostly used for storage. We waited quite a while to be found by a server. The food was terrible and hideously overpriced for the quality. I still can't believe I paid $14.99 for one skewer of what tasted like shrimp jerky wrapped in bacon jerky smothered in BBQ sauce. I had the tuna tacos which were filled with overcooked and under seasoned tuna. My husband had the crab cake sandwich which he classified as tasting like it came from a fast food restaurant. The best thing on the table were the hush puppies and my daughter's popcorn shrimp which to my surprise were perfectly cooked. Come for the view and vibes. Eat somewhere else.
While staying in Colonial Beach, I needed my fix of seafood and the Dockside delivered. We had an engaging and attentive waitress. We would have brough the pooch had we known the outdoor seating was pet-friendly. Service was reasonably timely, though, like many restaurant during this near post-plague period, they were short staffed. 3 of us ordered the fried scallop dinner (sea scallops) while The Wife had her usual fried shrimp (9-10 shrimp). The scallops were very good, perhaps some of the better fried scallops I've had. Most seating had good views of Monroe Bay.
We came for dinner last Saturday around 5:45pm. The hostess was rude and suggested that it would be a long wait for a table and suggested we wouldn't want to wait. Just then a table next to the hostess became available and she said we could sit there. She told us to go to the bar and order our food and drinks but didn't give us any menus. (I noticed people after us got menus). We thought while we were doing that, that someone would wipe off our table because it had several shrimp tails left on it. When we returned with our drinks the table was still dirty. We wiped the shrimp tails off. we ordered 2 fried shrimp dinners. There were only 4 fried shrimp on each dinner for $17.99. Between the rude hostess, dirty tables and skimpy 4 fried shrimp it was not a pleasant experience. We won't return.
