Bidra med feedbackWho would have expected this fairy tale place on a narrow, winding road cutting through chestnut tree woods far away from civilisation. We came up a vast parking lot still no houses on sight and ended before an ancient stone construction with a beer garden outside and many dreamlike paintings hanging on the walls inside: an invisible local artist has graced this venue with his rich production. The lady who served us looked a bit like a fairy from another time. Honestly, I cannot recall what we had; I was charmed by the green atmosphere and only recall a huge basked of wild mushrooms one of the customers was carrying. I was under a magic spell.
Something out of a Hogwarts potions department of the alcoholic arts. They are also open in the day time so to really get into this aspect of what's offered I would bring a deck chair and come on a sunny day and spend the rest of the afternoon admiring the view before attempting the return journey, but definitely whenever you visit bring a nominated driver and do not drink and drive. So why were there so many statistically high numbers of bad reports I asked? Aparently they were malicious trolls sponsored by jealous competitors in the area that they haven't bothered to challenge or have removed. Oh well this is Italy after all, and Machiavelli was Italian so a bit of skulduggery is nothing new. Take it from me it's OK.
The location is very nice. We expected to have some true local food, without pretending to be in a gourmet place. The 'antipasto ' was nothing special. The tagliatelle with sausage and pumpkin were terrible, without any real flavour and the pasta was not properly cooked and mixed with the ingredients. Last we had the 'arrosto ': again no real taste, very plain. When we have such experiences we use to say: 'It could have been much better to have lunch at home '
