The Beach Club - Collaroy Beach

Don 't normally give poor reviews anywhere but I feel the need to here. If I could give zero stars I would. Came here with my partner for our anniversary on the 13th Nov '23 for dinner. Sat outside on the balcony overlooking the beach, although a good view and location, the staff and service did not make up for it. Scanned QR code to order beers and chicken schnitzel. Drinks never came out at all. Four day old salad (brown wilted lettuce, and small serving size) alongside a dry piece of chicken with no sauce. Had to ask for cutlery, sauce and napkins several times. Partner ordered fish burger with avocado. Literally came out with half an avocado, not cut up shoved stop the unsatisfactory dry bread. Lack of effort was astounding. Asked for refund for drinks only, manager no where to be seen. And staff made little effort to find them. Will not be returning.

I had a lovely grilled barramundi. The accompanying salad was really good as well. My dining companions were also very happy with their meals. I was pleased with the price of my meal which I thought very reasonable having regard to the quality of both the meals and the gorgeous location, above the beach. We sat outside. The staff were pleasant and attentive, too.

Birthday dinner. Normal pub fare. Good view of beach. Better for lunch on a sunny day.

Every time we eat there we say never again. Though we’ll try again today, it was my wife’s birthday today, checked the menu from home it looked good, hoping you have improved. My steak was over cooked, the veggies were preheated, soft, can see the mash preheated, prob in microwave. My wife had whole snapper and same vegetables. The same as if the whole meal was cooked hours before, put on the plate, then preheated when ordered. The meals was served not long after ordering. My wife’s said this looked terrible and old, the fish plate was taken away and was told the chef will cook it fresh. I ate my over cooked steak alone and my wife had to wait for some time for her meal to find it was the same as before. Then ate alone, not much of a birthday. We had to order our food and drinks at the counter and wait, and my beer I had to go downstairs to get it. NO TABLE SERVICE. Once again we have to say we will not eat there again. Your vegetable and salad are always the same with every dish, and over cooked. The only thing going is your view. My wife couldn’t eat her meal, and said it’s disgusting. so we went to the Collaroy and had something to eat there. Not much of a birthday for her, she was looking forward to have a nice meal. We : paid for our meals that we didn’t like and couldn’t eat, and one of the worst! and to find we had to go else where to get something fresh to eat. Pity. We live so close, sad we can’t eat and take our family to beach club.

I always have an excellent experience at The Beach Club. The staff is friendly and helpful, and meals are consistently served with a smile. The food and drinks are reasonably priced for members, and the quality and portion sizes are consistently good.
