On May 4, 1961, McDonald's first filed for a US brand named McDonald 's with the description Drive-In Restaurant Services that will continue to be renewed. Until September 13, McDonald 's, under the leadership of Ray Kroc, filed for a brand on a new logo - an overlapping, double-arched M symbol. But before the double arches McDonald 's used a single arch for the architecture of their buildings. Although the Golden Arches logo appeared in various forms, the current version was only released on 18th. November 1968 when the company was favored a US brand. On 15 April 1955, the current company honours its founder Ray Kroc. This was indeed the ninth opened McDonald's restaurant overall, although this site was destroyed and rebuilt in 1984. Kroc later bought McDonald's equity in the company and started the global reach of the company. Kroc was accepted as an aggressive business partner and the McDonald brothers were expelled from the industry. Kroc and the McDonald brothers fought to control the company, as documented in Kroc's autobiography. The San Bernardino restaurant was finally demolished (1971, after Juan Pollo) and the site was sold to the Juan Pollo chain in 1976. This area now serves as the headquarters for the Juan Pollo chain and a McDonald's and Route 66 Museum. With the expansion of McDonald's into many international markets, the company has become a symbol of globalization and the spread of American life. Its domination has also made it a common topic of public debates on obesity, corporate ethics and consumer responsibility.
