Seasalt Cafe - Clovelly

The place has a view to die for. Great food and service. Reasonable prices. Great before or after a walk. Licensed. Wish they had an all day breakfast though. Breakfast finishes 11.30. But it's great.

I went with a group of friends for brunch on a Sunday. One of them had booked and I dutifully read the godawful reviews - so had very low expectations. Happily, the service was fast and very friendly, and they catered to our numerous requests with good humour. The food arrived in good time and was tasty. The prices were quite reasonable. Coffee was fine. Given how busy the place was, I expected service to be slow but it wasn't at all. Situated overlooking the beach, along the Bondi to Coogee walk, near parking and the bus stop, it was the perfect spot for a lazy catch up.

I was once a regular here, but had not visited for nearly 10 years. Reacquainted myself for a lunch date on a beautiful autumn day. It was a Saturday, so surprised we were readily able to get a balcony table with a superb view over Clovelly Beach, which just sparkled. Once for walk-ins like us these were as scarce as hen's teeth, so it seems like the very mixed reviews on TA had had an impact. We ordered coffee, which was fine, followed by salads, the quinoa and the rainbow, which were also fine, though I thought portions could have been a little larger considering the not inexpensive prices. And no problem with the service, either. All in all a very pleasant experience. Sure, the food might be slightly on the expensive side, but what you are paying for here is the view. And on a good day it is truly sublime.

Indoor or out, the setting is delightful and the atmosphere pleasant. Bottle of water was brought to the table once we chose our seats/table. Banana bread was terrific - generous serve with butter provided. Coffee was good too.

Das Seasalt Cafe haben wir auf unserem Bondi to Cogee Coastal Walk zum Mittagessen entdeckt. Es macht zwar zuerst den Eindruck nach einer schmuddeligen Strandkneipe, doch das Essen war in Ordnung. Wir hatten ein Pilzrisotto und einen Burger und es war o.k.
