Gilberts Chowder House - Cliff Island

Get the chowder sampler if they have it. We got to try 5 different chowders. Each was rich and delicious. Service was understandably slow...it's was pretty packed. But staff was friendly and the food was worth the wait.

My first experience with chowder but I enjoyed it. I had the seafood bread bowl.

My clam chowder did not have a lot of clams. Also the lobster rolls are served cold.

We stumbled on this place as we were trying to find a spot that had seafood and was not crazy busy. It was a great find. We had grilled cheese, seafood chowder, mussels, baked scallops and a mini blueberry pie.All the food was great and the service was amazing. Our servicer had made a mistake with the order and she made us a new one even though we said it was okay. She was a gem that had been there almost 30 years. The seafood chowder was great and the bread bowl was even better.9/10 would recommend for a great bite of food and a great dessert. The bathroom was a 4/5 as it had individual rooms according to a seasoned bathroom vet.

We loved the seafood chowder. Not something we ever could get back home, different! ? yum!
