Way over charged my credit card. The food was pretty good.
I returned to this take out only Tex Mex spot specifically to try another item, their Chile Relleno. I ordered the combo which adds beans and rice to the rellenos. As with the previous order of Carnitas, the Chile Rellenos were well packaged, the portions were large (there were 2 well sized chiles), with a dozen or more fresh flour tortillas. The chilies used here are very large poblanos which are stuffed with a white Mexican melting cheese, there was no meat mixture! As with the Carnitas, these items were not authentically correct! The chilies should be roasted until the skin is thoroughly charred, these showed no sign of being roasted. The Chiles should then have the charred skin removed, be cut open and the seeds and ribs removed before they are filled they were cut open, but the seeds and ribs remained intact! Not gonna continue to beat a dead chile this is decent Tex Mex food with large portions, but the two dishes I've had here are not authentic, and I've tried to show how they fall short! If you like it, enjoy it for what it is, but know what you are eating! And if you use the term authentic, it helps to know what the entails. Truth is there are very, very few authentic ethnic dishes available in most areas of the US usually a matter of availability of ingredients, restricted cooking methods, and labor required to prepare properly most restaurants in the US will not invest to make it right!
