Bidra med feedbackThat wasn't our first time in this restaurant. there was no one at the Hostess booth. we were finally shown to our table and maybe 20 minutes later the hostess said she was our waitress because they were short workers. we ordered our food and about 10 minutes later she came back and said they were from my escape. then she went on to say the kitchen is very short staff and they do the best they can. When the food finally arrived, it was very good, the caliber we are used to, but we were a little off the staff this evening. the short ripenings were fantastically dropped off from the nativity. Of course, the jazz music was on the spot and we couldn't have enjoyed it anymore. we will go back and hope that the experience is positiw.
To all the staff of Cuvee 103, you guys did amazing! This was a very special dinner and somebody recommended us to here who said it was very good... they weren't wrong! At first I was worried the atmosphere would be too casual for my event but it is perfectly in the middle where it would work for both date-night dinners and special events; plus the level of cuisine just added to the elegance (MORE ON THIS BELOW). We arrived at our reserved time and was promptly seated by staff (who also knew of our special requests made online). We were greeted and served by a lively young lady who was incredibly knowledgeable of the menu. She was on the dot with beverage refills and was there whenever we needed her. Now, onto the food. The food was stupendous. We started off with complementary bread and a fresh appetizer salad which was light, green, and filled with flavor. From a nice variation of lettuce, to an abundance of olives and tomatoes, to the ever so delicate goat cheese and certainly house-made vinaigrette: the salad was definitely 5 star worthy. Then for our main entrees I ordered their crispy duck and my lovely girlfriend ordered the Florida Cioppino (which I learned was a California like seafood broth). The duck was fantastic. Now I will admit, I have only had it one other time at a formal restaurant in Minnesota, but this duck knocked all other competition out of the ball park. It was perfectly cooked medium well evenly throughout and had a nice crispy exterior. It also came with two sides that matched each food group creating a well balanced meal. My girlfriend thought the same of her dish and I was blown away by the flavor. Finally the desert was also ever so delectable and it all came to a reasonable price (especially considering the quality). I would highly recommend! And for all of the wine aficionados out there, they had a wide selection of wines (ranging from standard priced all the way up to around $200 luxury bottles).
We really wanted to like the place. small, intimate, cozy, neighboring art of space. really cool keyboard player. we had dinner there on Saturday night. the waiter apologised for short staff. Nevertheless, he has the weeping order wrong, not sure whether his debt is back at the cash. the appetizer took an hour to come, and the waiter brought brot to the table only after the appetizer. So we sat with nothing but weeping for an hour. the steak was rarely ordered medium, I guess it was sitting under the heat lamp too long.
While highly recommended, the restaurant did not meet my expectations. Several items on the wine list were unavailable. The mussel appetizer was more than sufficient for two people, and while the lime sauce was interesting, it could have been enhanced with roasted garlic, which would have paired well with the other sauces. I ordered the diver scallops and received just four small scallops for $28—definitely not worth it. The polenta side was bland. My partner had the reserved ribs, which, although a decent portion, lacked excitement, and the sauce tasted store-bought. Overall, I was very disappointed. The only highlight was our server, who was bubbly and attentive.
Our first visit was on Mother's Day, and it was fantastic! This place is a true gem. We will definitely be back often; the food, service, and atmosphere were all amazing. Thank you, Cuvee 103!
