Bidra med feedbackWhat happens when Punjab Sweet House eats a giant mushroom? It becomes SUPER Punjab Sweet House! Mario jokes aside, this place is alright. After eating mediocre samosas at other Abbotsford sweet shops I rolled the dice and did a google search. Let 's be honest. Most sweet shops are dumps and have signage written on plain computer paper with a sharpie. Perhaps the 'super ' feature of this place is no signage at all inside. The tour includes the service counter which is very clean and modern looking. To the right is stack of take-out boxes, hundreds of them. To the left is a folding table and some chairs for waiting. I scanned the walls looking for the take out menu......regular menu.......ANY MENU????? nothing in site. I approached the lady at the counter and asked her for a take-out menu. here 's how it went down Me: Hi, can I have a menu Lady: 'We don 't have menu '

That 's what we came here for. Do you also make pakora?<br/ <br/ Lady: Yes, Veggie, and paneer.<br/ <br/ <br/ Yes, that really was the conversation. That being said. The lady was very nice. She then explained that they primarily make sweets. Being in the mood for grease I passed on the sugary treats in the display case. I really like that all the food is behind glass. Very clean glass. Many other sweet chops leave food on the counter uncovered.<br/ <br/ When trying a new shop I like to order a few things so today was 6 veggie samosas, and one pound each of veggie and paneer pakora. For all this food it was about $14. $6 for the paneer. $5 for veggie. 60 cents per samosa. All of this was ready in 10 minutes! This speed must be in part to them specializing in a small number of items. They keep it simple and crank it out fast.<br/ <br/ The samosas are great seasoned skin. Basic potatoes and peas inside. Mildly spiced. Served with a red chutney. The veggie pakora is done in smaller crispy pieces here. I love it. Crispy little fried nuggets of spinach, cauliflower , and onions. The Paneer pakora looks different here. They resemble giant Chinese chicken balls. Inside you 'll find two pieces of paneer (cheese in case you didn 't know) sandwiching some spices and what may be minced spinach. Both varieties are served with a green chutney which tastes a little bit like sweet pickle relish.<br/ <br/ I really enjoyed the food from Super Punjab Sweet House. I think you will too.
