Hudson's Smokehouse Bbq

The hash was sweet I didn't care for that. The collard greens had tough stems that in my opinion should have been trimmed out of it. The cabbage was maybe the best cabbage I ever had. This place has gone way down hill since my last visit there. The buffet is just plain nasty. Everything is way over-salted. Fried chicken was good but cold. Gravy looked like a brown blood clot. BBQ tasted like it was frozen and thawed out in water… no flavor at all. The tea was good. Service was spotty at best.

Not a good experience. Half of the buffet was “out”. They brought hash, no rice. No fried chicken, no livers. When they finally brought rice it was watery and crunchy. When they brought the chicken, it was wings only- no spices — pretty tasteless. I actually waited (because it was crowded) for this! Not happy.

The sides at the buffet were better than the meats. The bartender appeared to be “overworked” and tired and her “vibe” just ruined my experience. That’s me being 100% honest. Once she started talking and acting I wanted to leave but I drove 20 mins to try this restaurant out.

What a fabulous find! We first tried Hudson's a few years ago on a suggestion from a friend, always fast and excellent. BBQ is outstanding and Brunswick stew is out of this world!
